When you’re dieting receiving chocolates, even for an occasion like Valentine’s Day, is not helpful. However, getting the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is one way to avoid cheating on your nutrition while still getting your fix. Infused with cocoa powder, this charming palette is sure to tantalize the senses and is actually calorie free!

White chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and several varieties in between, this palette is filled with an array of delicacies to make many sweet looks. Amaretto is my favorite all-over-the-lid shade. The shift between chocolate to cherry and copper keeps me mesmerized. And I can’t help but blend Salted Caramel and Semi-Sweet into the crease for every look I make with this palette. I love Cherry Cordial to deepen the outer corner, swept across the lower lashline, or used for the halo effect with Marzipan or Strawberry Bon Bon pressed in the center of the lid.

Gilded Ganache * Black Forest Truffle * Candied Violet * Cherry Cordial

The glitter shades are not as strong as I would like them to be as the pigment is undervalued in comparison to the glitter. For example, Gilded Ganache looks like a khaki green in the pan, but blended out it looks like a medium chocolate brown with strong gold glitter. They swatch so nicely on the back of the hand, but a brush to the lid doesn’t fully realize the potential these shades could have. They’re also rather powdery so be prepared for kickback.

Marzipan *  Hazelnut *  Creme Brulee *Amaretto * Haute Chocolate * Champagne Truffle

The shimmer shades are creamy and buttery, and Marzipan is by far the creamiest of them all. Each one is blendable and holds its shine to maximum potential. I love the metallic looks that present both warm and cool shades. Haute Chocolate is another favorite. I feel like it is so complimentary to my green eyes.

White Chocolate * Milk Chocolate * Salted Caramel * Semi-Sweet * Strawberry Bon Bon * Triple Fudge

The mattes are pretty consistent in texture and opacity, save Triple Fudge. It is totally buildable, but even swatches patchy. Packing it into the outer corner can be tricky as the fallout is intense. Either complete your eyes first or pack on some extra translucent powder to catch it all. Milk Chocolate is the most accurate comparison to the real deal. It’s also the best shade of the palette. It is perfectly formulated and applies so very well. White chocolate is great to set my primer, but as you can see in the photo- or rather, you can’t see- it does not show up for my skin tone.

All in all, this palette has earned its hype. The packaging is fantastic as the metal container keeps the sweet-scented cargo perfectly protected. As per usual, the palette includes several looks to try out, fitting to different occasions and/or tastes. I tried out the Hot Chocolate look, and was pleased with the results. The shadows last all day with the proper primer, and I didn’t notice any fading or transference at all. This retails for $49 and is available at several different retailers including Ulta, Sephora, Macy’s and Too Faced’s website.
